Abbie & Nick
Keep reading to see what a wedding at Chateau De Malliac is really like
Abbie & Nick's destination wedding at Chateau De Malliac in Bordeaux was the epitome of laid-back chic. Before the day even took place they were faced with obstacles that could have derailed the happy nuptials. An ill-timed air traffic control strike in France threatened to ground every guest who could attend but luckily for them they had some determined family and friends who weren't going to let a little thing like a nationwide strike stop them! Each one either rebooked their flights or embarked on the long drive from the UK to Bordeaux so they could arrive in time for the happy couple to say 'I do' in the quintessential French vineyard.
The vibe
With the days running up to the wedding being so stressful, it was a happy relief when the wedding day finally arrived and every single guest had made it. This meant everyone was in the partying mood from the get-go! Imagine a bustling, overflowing Chateau with every room filled with happy, excited guests preening and donning their glad rags with the champagne flowing. The suppliers busied themselves prepping the tables in the courtyard, ready for their al fresco wedding breakfast and the chairs on the lawn ready for their outdoor ceremony. It was a hive of activity from the moment the sun peeked over the vineyards.
The day
The day continued excitingly with a beautiful and short outdoor ceremony on the lawn with the Chateau as the backdrop. Abbie and Nick's close friend was their laid-back officiant, which allowed for a fun, personal atmosphere throughout the vows. A confetti tunnel to rival all confetti tunnels kicked off the reception in style and set the energy for the rest of the afternoon. Nick and Abbie were smiling, laughing and dancing through each moment of their day. Bouncing between friends and family and sipping Negroni's as they went. Queue the wedding breakfast and they entered to applause, cheers and a veritable sea of napkins being waved in the air - enter more dancing here
The evening
There were laughs a-plenty during their speeches and delicious french food and wine to top it off. Their day could only be made better with a stunning sunset streaking across the vineyard, and one hell of a party!
